The story of the moonrat nickname.
I test games for a living, including many quiz games. One day a fellow tester (an angry scot as it happens) was playing Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, and a question came up “To what family of animals do moonrats belong?”* Angry Scot found the name moonrat amusing, and came back to tell the other testers about it. Heaven forbids I may have made a sarcastic comment or two about it, and he called me a moonrat. It stuck.
